• IPFC offers integrated, end-to-end IP services tailored to the specific requirements of MSMEs, startups, researchers, and academic innovators. It supports the entire IP lifecycle—covering ideation, identification, protection, enforcement, and commercialization.
• The Centre enables the recognition of latent intellectual assets within innovations and facilitates their protection through appropriate IPR mechanisms, including patents, industrial designs, trademarks, and trade secrets.

Patent & IP Filing Services

IPFC centre offers comprehensive support in intellectual property protection through:

• Prior art and patentability searches, patent drafting, and filing (national and international)
• Trademark search, application, and registration services
• Industrial design identification and application filing
• Preliminary feasibility and documentation support for Geographical Indication (GI) studies

IP Awareness & Capacity Building

To foster a robust innovation ecosystem, the Centre conducts structured IP knowledge dissemination and skill development activities, including

Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre (IPFC) is strategically established to catalyze a robust intellectual property (IP) ecosystem, particularly catering to the needs of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), startups, and academic innovators. The key aims and objectives of the SVCET-IPFC are outlined as follows:

Objectives of SVCET-IPFC (IP Facilitation Centre)

• To facilitate end-to-end IP protection for MSMEs, enabling them to secure, manage, and commercialise their innovations through patent drafting, filing, prosecution, and legal support services — with a focus on engineering, manufacturing, and technology-driven enterprises in the Chittoor and Tirupati region.
• To assist startups and student entrepreneurs emerging from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology in transforming innovative concepts into protected intellectual assets, empowering them to leverage IP for business competitiveness, funding, and market entry.
• To foster a culture of innovation and IP awareness among students and faculty of SVCET, encouraging ideation, design thinking, and translational research through structured mentoring, hands-on workshops, and capacity-building programmes aligned with the institution's academic goals.
• To promote a knowledge-driven innovation ecosystem by organising targeted IP outreach campaigns, sensitisation workshops, and technical training sessions aligned with national IP frameworks — including those of the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM) — and international IP standards under WIPO.
• To integrate SVCET-IPFC with government and industry-supported MSME innovation schemes such as MSME Technology Centres, Startup India, and TIDE 2.0, offering co-development, incubation, and technology transfer opportunities that accelerate commercialisation and create measurable societal impact in Andhra Pradesh.
• To empower the next generation of IP-literate engineers, entrepreneurs, and researchers graduating from Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology by providing sustained guidance in IP strategy, valuation, licensing, and enforcement — equipping them with skills relevant to both domestic and global innovation markets.
• To serve as a regional innovation catalyst for the Chittoor–Tirupati technology corridor, enhancing SVCET's role as a hub for IP-intensive research, academic-industry collaboration, and policy-driven IP facilitation in partnership with APSCHE, DST, and leading industry partners.

Project Execution Infrastructure

The proposed Chittoor IP Facilitation Centre will operate from a dedicated built-up area of 362 sq. meters within the Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET), Chittoor campus. The facility comprises professionally equipped office space, discussion rooms, meeting facilities, and training halls. It is supported by modern digital and technical infrastructure such as:
