Ragging in all its forms and name is banned on the campus of Sri Venkateswara
College of
Engineering & Technology, chittoor. Any student of this college who is found
indulging in
this heinous act will be punished as per the anti-ragging Act 26 of 1997 of Andhra
Pradesh.
All measures are taken by the college to curb this evil practice. However, if any
incidence
of ragging is found in the campus or in the town, students are advised to inform the
superintendent of police, chittoor (08572-231500, 235700) or to the nearby police
station.

or make use of suggestion / complaint boxes kept in front of the principal’s office,
Library, Main Gate, First Year Block and at Hostel (Boys & Girls).
To display Posters, Rules, Punishment and fines regarding ragging sent by JNTU/
AICTE in
all notice boards, canteen, college buses, vehicle stand etc.
To make arrangements to collect undertaking forms from the senior students and
parents.
To coordinate with the concerned HODs to ensure that the class rooms for all I
year
students are accommodated at one place in the college.
To constitute various Committees for preventing ragging, in and outside the
College.
To constitute the college vigilance committee with HOD’s of all departments for
visiting
college hostels and neighboring private hostels during nights on the scheduled
days.
To coordinate with the principal to constitute the Apex committee on
anti-ragging and
this committee shall be held responsible for all the aspects related to ragging
and its
prevention.
To provide the contact details of Vice Chairman, Director, Principal,
Vice-Principals &
Heads of the departments, to the first year students for communicating
complaints of
ragging activities, if any.
To install Complaint Boxes in the college and in the hostels to receive the
complaints
from the students to know about the Ragging incidents, if any.
To maintain strict surveillance in vacant class rooms, canteen, hostels and mess
and in
buses for prevention of ragging.
To counsel the senior students by the faculty members for not indulging in any
ragging
activities.
To organize “ Awareness Programme on Anti –Ragging” by the Police officials.
To organize the Legal Literacy Camp to create awareness amongst the students,
faculty
members and parents about the ragging acts and punishments by the legal
authorities.
