Department Profile

The Department of Computer Science and Business Systems (CSBS) at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology (SVCET) was established in 2023 with an initial intake of 60 students. This unique interdisciplinary program is designed to blend computer science and business management, preparing students for the modern technological world where IT and business are closely intertwined. The curriculum equips students with a balanced understanding of computer science fundamentals, such as programming, database management, and networking, alongside business concepts like data analytics, enterprise resource planning (ERP), business intelligence, and financial systems. With a strong focus on emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and business analytics, the program emphasizes project-based learning, industry internships, and real-world problem-solving.

The department offers state-of-the-art facilities, including Wi-Fi-enabled classrooms with interactive projectors, advanced business simulation labs, and computer science labs equipped with modern software tools. Strong industry collaborations with organizations like Infosys, IBM, SAP India, and Oracle Academy provide students with numerous opportunities for internships, research projects, and hands-on exposure to cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, the department promotes active student engagement through professional societies like ACM, IEEE, and CodeChef and regularly organizes workshops, guest lectures, and industrial visits.
