Dr. Matam Mohan Babu, an eminent academician and administrator, serves as the Principal and Professor of Civil Engineering at Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology (Autonomous), Chittoor. With an illustrious career spanning over 27 years, he has made remarkable contributions to academia, research, and institutional development.
Holding a Ph.D. in Water Resources from JNTU Hyderabad, an M.Tech in Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering from Karnataka Regional Engineering College (Presently NIT Surathkal), and a B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Regional Engineering College (Presently NIT Warangal), Dr. Mohan Babu has specialized expertise in Water Resources and Fluid Mechanics. His dedication to advancing engineering education is evident in his extensive teaching experience of over 26 years, during which he has mentored numerous students and research scholars..
As a prolific researcher, Dr. Mohan Babu has authored over 42 research papers in reputed international and national journals and has presented at various global conferences. His research contributions focus on groundwater studies, hydraulic engineering, and sustainable construction materials. Additionally, he has successfully guided multiple Ph.D research scholars.
Dr. Mohan Babu’s leadership in academic administration is commendable. Prior to his current role, he served in key positions such as Director of International Relations and Dean of Admissions & Foreign Relations at various reputed institutions. His strategic initiatives in fostering international collaborations, student recruitment, and institutional accreditation have significantly enhanced the academic standing of the institutions he has served.
Beyond academics, he has played a pivotal role in research and innovation, holding multiple patents and serving as an editor and reviewer for esteemed journals. His expertise extends to organizing national and international conferences, faculty development programs, and industry academic partnerships. Recognized for his outstanding contributions, he has received several prestigious awards, including the ‘Best Engineering College Principal Award’ from JNTU Anantapuramu for the year 2023 and the ‘Best Engineering College Principal Award’ from Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE AP Section) for the year 2022.
