Counselling & Psychological Support

Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering & Technology (SVCET) is committed to promoting the mental, emotional and overall wellbeing of its students through accessible, supportive and confidential counselling services. The institution follows a student-centric approach that encourages students to seek timely guidance for personal, academic and career-related concerns.

SVCET's Mentor–Mentee System provides an important first level of student support. Each faculty mentor is allotted a group of approximately 15–20 students and maintains regular interaction with mentees. Students receive personal, academic and career counselling, with counselling conducted twice in a semester. Mentors monitor academic performance and attendance, identify concerns at an early stage, provide appropriate guidance and refer serious issues to the Head of the Department/Principal for suitable intervention.

The institution also promotes awareness of mental health, stress management, emotional wellbeing and healthy coping practices through appropriate programmes and support activities. Students may approach their faculty mentor whenever they experience academic pressure, personal difficulties, adjustment challenges or other concerns affecting their studies and wellbeing.

The counselling system aims to reduce stigma, encourage early help-seeking, strengthen resilience and support holistic student development, while maintaining dignity, sensitivity and confidentiality in all interactions. The overall objective is to create a safe, caring and supportive campus environment in which every student can learn, grow and thrive.
